Cerro Colorado, rising to 1,778 metres, is one of the most popular climbs in the area. The trail starts right from the city, making it an ideal choice for those who want a mountain experience without venturing too far. The path winds through a lenga beech forest that blazes with spectacular reds and oranges in autumn. As you gain altitude, the forest gives way to high-altitude meadows and the views over Lago Lácar and the city become increasingly breathtaking. It's an excellent training trek before tackling more demanding ascents.
