About the experience
A 13-day expedition cruise aboard the m/v Hondius from Ushuaia: kayaking among Antarctic islands, one night camping on the white continent, Zodiac landings, snowshoeing, and wildlife encounters with whales, penguins, and leopard seals.
'Antarctica Basecamp Adventure & Cruise' program: 13 days and 12 nights aboard, embarking and disembarking in Ushuaia. The itinerary may vary depending on ice, weather, and wildlife conditions, in accordance with IAATO guidelines.
- Day 1: embarkation in Ushuaia and sailing through the Beagle Channel.
- Days 2 and 3: crossing the Drake Passage.
- Days 4 to 10: base of operations on the Antarctic Peninsula: Neumayer Channel, Puerto Lockroy (museum and the world's southernmost post office), Pléneau and Petermann islands by kayak, Neko Harbour by Zodiac, one night camping on the continent, and Errera Channel.
- Days 11 and 12: return crossing of the Drake.
- Day 13: disembarkation in Ushuaia.
Included activities: kayaking, Antarctic camping, snowshoeing, glacier hiking, and Zodiac cruises, with wildlife sightings including whales, gentoo and Adélie penguins, leopard seals, and elephant seals.
