Cerro Vallecitos, standing at 5,450 metres, is located in the Cordillera Frontal of Mendoza, just a few kilometres from the village of Vallecitos, known as the cradle of Argentine mountaineering. It is a mountain of great training value, frequently used as preparation for higher ascents such as Aconcagua or Cerro El Plata. The expedition sets off from the Vallecitos ski centre and climbs through high-altitude valleys with intermediate camps for proper acclimatization. The final sections require crampons and an ice axe on snow and rock terrain. The summit offers a privileged view of the Cordillera de los Andes, with Aconcagua dominating the horizon. It is an ideal option for taking the leap into high-altitude mountaineering, backed by experienced guides.
